Besides the obvious (ie perfect game) what would be your top 5 most exciting plays in football, baseball or basketball? My list:
5. 3 pointer to win a game at buzzer down by 2
4. Triple play
3. Fg to win a game with no time left
2. Walk off homerun
1. Hail mary td to win game
Not a separate list, but additions/comments:
ReplyDelete-Kickoff return to start a game.
-Somebody flying home on a ball still in play to try to score the winning run (whether they score or not, as long as it's close).
-I can't put any field goals on here. Too many attempts to ice the kicker, too high a percentage on field goals, etc.
I agree with the FG comment to an extent. If it's a 20 yard field goal sure it's a high percentage, but past 30 yards, every 5 yards is basically a standard deviation away from the normal percentage. I think anything past 45 yards to win a game is not a gimme and very exciting and nerve racking. One more play...doesn't happen often but it's the dream scenario
ReplyDeletebases loaded, up 3, 2 outs bottom of the inning...can't beat that drama.
I'll buy that regarding field goals, I suppose. I think at this point we need to be up around 45-50 yards for it to be very dramatic (and I really wish the drama came from more blocks rather than just wide kicks), but fair enough.
